St Eustatius

St Eustatius - Popularly known as Statia, this tranquil little Dutch outpost is one of the Leeward Islands' most overlooked destinations; it is in the northern, Leeward Islands portion of this territory, to the east of the Virgin Islands. The regional capital is Oranjestad. Land area of 21 sq. km (8.1 sq. mi). Population was 2,498 inhabitants.
St Eustatius - Although it may lack glorious beaches, it also lacks hordes of tourists, and the scattering of historical sites and stray goats and chickens moseying down the streets make it a more old-fashioned retreat. Oranjestad, the island's capital and its only town, features sea-battered historic buildings in varying states of ruination, and is surrounded by windswept cliffs. Visitors do not require a visa to visit St Eustatius, and US and Canadian visitors don't even need a passport.
